Treat Your Teacher 2020

Treat your Teacher During (Maybe) Back-to-School Month!

Update: Winner's Announced!
Congratulations to our three winners! Check your email for instructions on how to receive your prizes and see below for the lovely things your nominators said about you:

Mrs. Farber
Mrs. Farber has been one of the best teachers I've ever had. My high school has never had a formal library in my time there, and as a result, she organized a classroom library big enough to support and inspire every one of her students, working with lots of other staff to make it happen. She truly makes the literature come to life, and every student in her class loved every minute by the end of that year. She's truly an amazing teacher, and rarely is recognized for how hard she works for those students.

Erin S.
Erin works with refugee students new to this country. She works to teach them English and content knowledge. But first and foremost, she must build a bridge to them so they feel safe. Many of these children have come from war zones and refugee camps, have experienced horrendous things and are terrified. Most have never seen technology like computers and are now entering the US public educational system during a pandemic. Her job will be even more difficult given that she will not be able to be face to face with “her kids.” Every year, Erin’s kids develop a sense of security and a passion for education because of the way she is with them.

Mrs. Dorn
Mrs. Dorn is an exceptional Literature teacher at a small private school in Massachusetts. She is the only Lit teacher in the upper grades, so she teaches grades 6-12 by herself. The school is small with a very small budget. Her creativity and thriftiness allow her to do amazing projects with her students to bring their books, plays and short stories to life. She has spent quite a bit of her own funds to make this happen. She has also invested in your products that go along with the curriculum she is teaching. She brings literature alive to her students even those who prior to meeting her hated reading. If she were to win, the prize would bring her personal joy, but it would also bring more life to her classroom!
